چکیده

A 30-year-old female reported sporadic paresthesia and tremors in the left hand, hemiface, and hemibody. MRI showed a lesion in the left pontomesencephalic junction (Figure 1), with brushlike enhancement after gadolinium administration, well depicted with maximum intensity projection (MIP) technique (Figure 2). Despite its unusually large dimensions, the lesion was diagnosed as a capillary telangiectasia based on its characteristic imaging findings. The clinical picture was attributable to the lesion, and biopsy was not pursued. It is important to bear in mind that larger lesions may also occur, and the occurrence of symptoms may be related to the affected sites.

Various combinations of vascular malformations of the brain in one lesion have been reported, while others seem to be very rare. In this report, the authors discuss the case of a coexistence of an capillary telangiectasia of the pons and intracerebral venous anomaly. To our knowledge, this is the first report of coexistence of a capillary telangiectasia of the pons and intracerebral venous anom...

Symptomatic unruptured capillary telangiectasia of the brain stem: report of three cases and review of the literature.

Three young patients with transient or intermittent focal neurological signs suggesting brain stem involvement are described, in whom high field MRI showed focal areas of hyperintensity in T2 weighted spin echo images, hypointensity in T2* weighted gradient echo images, and enhancement in postcontrast T1 weighted images consistent with unruptured capillary telangiectasia of the brain stem. The ...

The brain in hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia.

The Brain in Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia • While neurological symptoms are often mentioned in reports of families with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT) and are frequently assumed to be due to vascular anomalies of the central nervous system, documentation of such anomalies is surprisingly rare. Two cases of surgically treated symptomatic cerebral vascular malformations in H...
